The practice

This body of 89 works was made over a decade of self-development, ancestral pilgrimage, deep healing and insight. The work begins with intimate experience, then opens it outward — making the personal universal.

Each work begins as writing. A question is asked longhand — about a father, a mother, a boundary, a devotion — and answered on the same sheet. Only then does the water arrive, carrying pigment over and around the words until the page becomes one thing.

The recurring forms are few and deliberate: single-stroke firs, concentric arcs opening from one small mark, root systems that spread sideways, double loops that name an agreement. They move between codependence and interdependence, feminine and masculine, shadow and light — and between the languages of science, medicine and spirituality that the work refuses to separate.

Ceremonial and ancestral material sits openly in the pages: Eleusis, Soma, Wachuma, the elements, and a relational ethic that the land is alive and sacred, and that what earth gives should be offered back.
